In addition, Brother Roger speaks of his encounters with significant people, including several popes and the secretary general of the United Nations.

This third volume of the personal journals of Brother Roger (1915-2005) concerns the years from 1972 to 1976. It covers the final preparations and the opening of the “Council of Youth”, an attempt to take seriously the desire for renewal of church and society of the younger generations and to orient it in a positive direction. Brother Roger also speaks of the life of the community and its many visitors, his personal spiritual journey, and the trips he took to different parts of the world, notably, at the end of 1976, to a poor neighborhood of Calcutta with an intercontinental team of young people.

Dieses Album mit Gesängen aus Taizé in deutscher Sprache entstand im Nachgang zum Europäischen Jugendtreffen in Rostock 2022/2023. Es wurde vom 8. bis 10. März 2024 in Rostock mit dem Choralchor und Solisten der St.-Johannis-Kantorei sowie mit einigen mit Taizé befreundeten Musikern aufgenommen.

Thầy Roger bước vào cuộc sống vĩnh hằng vào ngày 16 tháng 8 năm 2005. Cộng đoàn Taizé xuất bản những trang sách này để chứng thực lòng biết ơn vô hạn đối với món quà sự sống của người sáng lập. Cuốn sách này chỉ ra những trực giác chính yếu của Thầy Roger và cách thầy hiện thực hóa chúng trong hành trình lịch sử của cộng đoàn. A continuación están las respuestas a las preguntas más frecuentes sobre Kellia.

- ¿Qué significa Kellia?

Kellion (en plural kellia) es una palabra griega que significa "celda", una especie de casa pequeña. Es el hogar de las ammas y los abbas, los protagonistas del juego de mesa que, hacia el siglo IV, optaron por irse a vivir solos al desierto.

- ¿Cómo se creó el juego?

El concepto, la mecánica del juego y el diseño gráfico fueron realizados por los hermanos de Taizé a lo largo del año 2021. Varios hermanos también ayudaron a probarlo, así como jóvenes que visitaban Taizé. La producción fue realizada por una empresa de la Unión Europea.

- Un juego cooperativo, ¿qué significa eso?

Kellia es un juego de cooperación, no de competición. Los jugadores tienen que cooperar, para intentar superar juntos el reto del juego. Todos ganan juntos o pierden juntos.

- ¿Se puede jugar varias veces?

Por supuesto que sí. Hay dos versiones del juego: una versión introductoria, para familiarizarse con la mayor parte de las reglas, y una versión completa, más estratégica, que permite partidas más variadas, con varios niveles de dificultad.

Sobre las normas

- Ya tengo 7 cubos, pero aún no tengo un cubo de Agua. ¿Es posible recoger aún un cubo de Agua o pedir uno en la iglesia?

No. Primero tienes que liberarte de alguno de los cubos que tienes; por ejemplo, dando un cubo a otro jugador; poniendo un cubo en una casilla de desierto o de recursos; o deshaciéndote de un cubo de Vida interior (para obtener 3 acciones más).

- En la versión completa, las tormentas eliminan todo lo que hay en un sector: cubos, mejoras, caminos... ¿También hay que eliminar las construcciones?

No. Cada construcción sustituye a una casilla del desierto y entonces forma parte del tablero. Las casillas de construcción se barajan como las demás casillas del sector afectado por la tormenta.

- En la versión completa, ¿puedo contemplar una casilla de desierto donde se ha colocado un cubo de Admiración o un cubo de Trabajo?

Sí, porque mientras esta casilla no haya sido sustituida, sigue siendo una casilla de desierto.

- En la versión completa, tras una tormenta, apareció un obstáculo frente a un kellion. ¿Podría evitarse?

Puedes evitarlo colocando la nueva casilla del desierto delante de un kellion.

Sin embargo, si tirando el dado salió un 6, solo se puede proteger uno de los kellia. A continuación, los jugadores pueden decidir dónde colocar esta casilla de desierto, en función de las habilidades especiales de cada personaje, la disposición del desierto, el orden en el que juega....

- En la versión completa, al principio de una partida de nivel difícil, la pieza del calendario se coloca en sábado. ¿Qué hay que hacer en la primera ronda?

Al final del primer día, los jugadores van a la iglesia, no a su kellion (como hacen cada sábado por la noche).

¿Quiénes son los abbas (“padres”) y las ammas (“madres”)?

Un anciano dijo a uno de los hermanos:
Vete y quédate en tu kellion*, y ese kellion te lo enseñará todo.

Alrededor del siglo IV d.C., en Egipto, pero también en Siria, Palestina y otras zonas de Oriente Próximo y Asia Menor, unos cuantos hombres y mujeres, dejaron sus posesiones, sus familias, y el día a día que tenían en sus vidas para vivir solos en el desierto. Son conocidos como los padres y madres del desierto.

Vivieron una vida austera. Hicieron sus casas en cuevas o en kellia pequeñas que construyeron ellos mismos. Comían pan, hierbas y verduras. Se ganaban la vida con trabajo manual: cosiendo, fabricando cestas o cuerdas… Y por encima de todo, rezaban.

¿Cuál era su motivación? Sobre todo, una sed profunda de comunión con Dios. Su trabajo humilde, su vida pobre y de ascetismo, el rezo constante, la aceptación de ellos mismos y de otros, y la confrontación con la oscuridad… los abbas y las ammas lo sobrellevaron todo para hacerse disponibles a Dios. El kellion, que era a su vez su refugio y el sitio donde se querían quedar, acabó siendo símbolo de su lucha personal.

En el desierto, cada uno confió a un anciano su modo de vida, los pensamientos que venían con ellos, sus hábitos… Este era, por supuesto, el aspecto de más cooperación de sus vidas.

Trazos de esas conversaciones nos han llegado en forma de leyendas, como la que se cita arriba, en donde se mezcla la sabiduría, el consejo, las anécdotas, la imaginación y el humor…

Aunque sus vidas pueden parecernos heroicas, eran sobre todo realistas. En el desierto no hay prácticamente nada, y sobrevivir significó buscar bien las pocas cosas vivas que se podían encontrar. Y por supuesto no fue solo para comer, ni para conrear, sino por todas las personas que ocasionalmente conocieron, e incluso, según alguna leyenda, también animales.

Respeto a todos los seres vivos, contemplación de los vastos espacios del desierto, aprender a encontrar los límites de cada uno… ¿No podríamos decir que las ammas y los abbas practicaron, adelantados a su tiempo, una ecología real del desierto?

En el siglo IV d.C., en una zona remota de Egipto, un grupo de hombres y mujeres en busca del absoluto se instalan en el desierto, en pequeñas cabañas (kellia), lejos de las regiones habitadas.

¡Pero la vida en el desierto es de todo menos sencilla! Todo el mundo debe asegurar su material de supervivencia, aceptar los riesgos de un lugar hostil, cultivar la tierra, y por encima de todo, luchar contra sus propios demonios.

Sin embargo, para aquellos que se conviertan en los primeros ermitaños cristianos, el desierto se convertirá en el escenario de una aventura apasionante.

Kellia un juego de estrategia cooperativo, realizado e ilustrado por los hermanos de la Comunidad de Taizé. Inspirado en la vida de los padres y las madres del desierto, combinando espiritualidad, cooperación y ecología.

CD grabado en Taizé en la Iglesia de la Reconciliación en 2017.

Este disco muestra tanto la renovación de la oración en Taizé como su continuidad a través de los años. Presenta nuevas canciones, escritas por los hermanos de Taizé entre el 2012 y 2017 y grabadas por primera vez, pero también otras que han sido parte de la oración de la comunidad durante mucho tiempo. Algunos de estos provienen de un pasado lejano: un cántico de Adviento de la tradición evangélica alemana del siglo XVII, y una letanía basada en antífonas de la tradición secular de la iglesia.

Un CD grabado en 2014, en la comunidad Taizé

Este disco, «Taizé – Music of Unity and Peace » (Música de Unidad y de Paz) es fruto de una colaboración inédita entre la comunidad y una gran firma internacional Deutsche Grammophon / Universal Music. Esta propuso poner su rica experiencia al servicio de este proyecto y los hermanos aceptaron la propuesta, procurando dar a conocer sus canciones a un público mas amplio. Los que ya han participado en los encuentros internacionales en Taizé encontraran en esta grabación una vez más la atmósfera que ya han experimentado y otros un pequeño eco de la oración contemplativa.

Luego de las campanas las cuales los visitantes están acostumbrados a oírlas en Taizé, este disco presenta cantos interpretados por una coral de jóvenes e instrumentistas de diversos países, algunas grabaciones realizadas durante la oración común en julio de 2014, así como salmos y responsos cantados únicamente por los hermanos. Es por eso que en algunas pistas se escucha la masa la coral de unas dos mil quinientas personas y en otras la intimidad que se puede vivir en la oración de Taizé. El canto « Let all who are thirsty come » (Que aquel que tenga sed venga) es la primera vez que se incluye en una grabación.

« Hay muchas situaciones en el mundo que necesitan paz. » dice el hermano Alois, prior de la comunidad en el folleto que acompaña el CD. « Pero esta paz debe llegar a nuestros corazones. Paz no significa que vivamos siempre una vida fácil, pero sí significa que creemos que la paz es posible. »

Mark Wilkinson, presidente de Deutsche Grammophon, está muy contento con este disco: Estos cantos, emotivos, que tocan, merecen llegar a un público más amplio. La música puede ayudar a romper barreras para cambiar las cosas, y el canto de Taizé, único en su género, es el ejemplo perfecto. »

Los Talleres han renunciado a hacer envíos de cerámica por el riesgo a que se rompan. Por el contrario, algunos esmaltes en cobre y algunos objetos más pueden ser enviados.
