In one of the parables of Jesus, the king said to his servants, “Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.” So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.

The one who vindicates me is near; God is coming to my help. So who can condemn me?

Remember the first days when, after having received the light of faith, you stood your ground in the face of great suffering. All your belongings were seized, and you accepted this joyfully because you knew that you had better and lasting possessions.

Your faithful love supports me, O God. However great the anxiety of my heart, your consolation brings joy to the soul.

Your faith has been a great encouragement to us in the middle of our own distress and hardship.

Jesus said: Watch and pray, so as not to fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but human nature is weak.

Jesus said: When you are handed over, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. What you are to say will be given to you when the time comes, for it is not you who will be speaking but the Spirit of your Father will be speaking in you.
